Staff Arranger, Music Producer for the West Point Band
ABOUT
Staff Sergeant Taylor is an award winning composer and music arranger.
Since his enlistment in 2009, SSG Taylor has been a dedicated member of the United States Army, contributing to the military's musical endeavors.
As the Staff Arranger for the West Point Band since 2015, SSG Taylor has created custom music arrangements for numerous ensembles, including the Cadet Glee Club, the String Ensemble, the Spirit Band, and the 100th Night Show.
SSG Taylor is a prolific media composer. He has composed original music and sound designs for numerous United States Military Academy initiatives, including public service announcements, historical documentaries, podcasts, and social media videos.
SSG Taylor has also served as music producer for the West Point Band. Serving as a recording session live event producer, he has managed and supervised numerous projects, including the soundtracks for the 2017 and 2018 Macy's Fireworks Spectacular, and the West Point Holiday Shows in 2018, 2021, and 2022.
Staff Sergeant Taylor's contributions as a composer, arranger, and producer have greatly enriched the artistic endeavors of the West Point Band. Prior to joining the West Point Band, SSG Taylor was a musician in the 113th Army Band 'Dragoons' and the 323d Army Band 'Ft. Sam's Own’.
With over a decade in the United States Army, SSG Taylor's dedication and artistic abilities continue to shape the musical landscape of the United States Army and inspire audiences far and wide.
Outside of his musical activities, SSG Taylor is a dedicated husband and a father of two beautiful children.

MEDIA COMPOSITION
2021 Public Service Announcement
SSG Taylor composed the soundtrack for the 2021 USMA Public Service Announcement. He produced the recording session and mixing process. This video was nominated for an Emmy Award by the New York chapter of the National Academy of Television, Arts, and Sciences.
United States Military Academy
Warrior Games
In 2016 SSG Taylor composed a new Fanfare and Theme for the DoD Warrior Games. The music was recorded by the West Point Band.
2019 Army Football
From 2017 through 2022, SSG Taylor composed original scores for the Army Football hype videos. These videos are played in the stadium as the team takes the field.
This original theme was composed as part of a group of music for the United States Army Command and General Staff College. The CGSC uses this music for many of their podcasts and social media releases.

2018 Army-Navy Game Uniform Video
In 2018, SSG Taylor composed a cinematic underscore for the Army-Navy Game uniform reveal video that was featured on CBS Sports. Army Football was honoring the First Infantry Division.
SONIC BRANDING
West Point Music Research Center and SSG Taylor created custom audio logos for the United States Military Academy. The audio logos have been used by the academy for advertisements, academic projects, and public speaking engagements.
RECORDING PRODUCTION
2018 Macy's July 4th Fireworks Spectacular
SSG Taylor was the lead music producer and music program designer for the 2018 Macy's July 4th Fireworks Spectacular. In addition to arranging music for the show, he managed the entire music production process from mock-up to final delivery of the soundtrack.

2017 West Point Spirit Video
Sing Second is a cinematic music video of the United States Military Academy's Alma Mater. The film was produced by Austin Lachance and the music was performed and recorded by members of the West Point Band and the West Point Cadet Glee Club.

West Point Fireworks
SSG Taylor has been the lead music producer for the West Point Band fireworks soundtrack. This music is played at the annual Independence Day Concerts, Labor Day Concerts, and athletic and other Academy events. In addition to producing the recording sessions, SSG Taylor has been the recording engineer for several of the West Point Band's recordings.

SSG Taylor designed and produced the 2022 West Point Holiday show. He also directed the Fox News video team capturing the performance to be aired on the network December 24, 2022 (8:00 PM).

2020 West Point Virtual Holiday Show
Due to the pandemic, the West Point Band created a virtual holiday show. SSG Taylor was the producer and director on the show. His work included designing the program, producing recording sessions, storyboarding and directing the video shoots.

Bicentennial Concert
SSG Taylor directed the live stream of the West Point Band's Bicentennial Gala Concert. The concert at New York's Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts was captured using four PTZ cameras.
