Works

Symphonic Music

Taylor’s prolific work with symphonic ensembles includes works for symphonic band, orchestra, and concertos. His piece The Guide for symphonic band has been widely performed by concert band across the U.S.. In January 2009, The Guide will be performed at the 51st Annual Band Music Reading and Directors Clinic at Bowling Green State University.

Brass Music

As a Trombone player, Taylor has written many works for chamber brass ensembles. Taylor has had brass works performed at the 2008 & 2004 Ohio Music Educators Association Conferences and at the International Trombone Society’s Conference in 2001.

Percussion Music

Taylor has written several marimba works for artist, Brenton Dunnington. Most recently, Taylor has composed Celtic Visions, a work for solo percussion & orchestra. Celtic Visions was written for Dame Evelyn Glennie.

Woodwind Music

Taylor’s work also includes chamber music for solo woodwind instruments and several chamber ensemble pieces. The Chaconne for Saxophone Quartet & Piano was featured in a student film at Bowling Green State University.

Jazz, Media, & Other

Along with his concert music, Taylor has also written works for jazz ensembles, marching bands, and media projects. Taylor’s work also features orchestrations done for The Capital University Symphonic Winds and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
