Program Notes

Condition Red was composed in 2002 for the Capital University Symphonic Winds. It was premiered in November of 2002 in Columbus, Ohio by the Capital Symphonic Winds, under the direction of Barry E. Kopetz.

Condition Red is an exciting work for symphonic band that demonstrates the composer’s mastery of orchestrating for the band medium. Scored to sound like modern film music, Condition Red is a suspenseful composition that shows the composer’s flair for the dramatic. The work evokes a sense of danger and exhilaration as the listener is taken on this musical journey.
