Taylor conducted the Penfield High School Wind Ensemble in a performance of The Guide.

Taylor was awarded First Prize in the Penfield Music Commission Project’s 2008 Composition Contest. The Penfield Music Commission Project began in 1982 and has commissioned over 270 works for concert band. The focus of the Project is to “foster the development of the creative process of musical composition and performance through collaborative experiences with a variety of composers, guest artists and organizations.”

While in residence at Penfield High School in May of 2008, Taylor conducted and rehearsed the students in preparation for a performance of The Guide. Taylor also gave a guest lecture to the Penfeild Music Theory classes on the experiences of studying music composition in high education.
