Noah D. Taylor (ASCAP)

Noah D. Taylor head shotNoah D. Taylor’s work encompasses orchestral music, symphonic band music, chamber music, jazz music and songs. His works have been featured at the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) Convention and at universities nation-wide. His Concerto No. 1 in D-Minor for marimba and orchestra has been performed nationally with continued engagements by marimbist Brenton Dunnington. Taylor was recently named first prize winner of the 2005 Metropolitan Wind Symphony Student Commission Competition and was commissioned to write a new work for the group’s 2006–2007 concert season.

October 2008

Euphonium soloist, Pat Stuckemeyer and the University of Arizona Symphonic Band will be recording the Concerto for Euphonium and Frontier of Freedom. Taylor’s music will be on an album released this winter, including works by James Barnes, Peter Meechan, and Anthony Zilincik.

September 2008

Altered States, an original marching band show, being performed by the Worthington Kilbourne High School Marching Band, in Ohio area competitions.

May 2008

Altered States is Noah D. Taylor’s first original marching band score. It was commissioned by the Worthington Kilbourne High School Marching Band, under the direction of Phil Day. The Penfield High School Wind Ensemble, conducted by Noah D. Taylor, gave an exceptional performance of The Guide.

April 1, 2008

The Guide has been awarded first prize in the Penfield Music Commission Project’s 2008 Composition Contest for wind ensemble music. Taylor will be traveling to Penfield, New York, in May to work with the Penfield High School band in their preparation for performance of the piece.
